NFC Preview

With another mouth to feed around my house and exponentially fewer readers each season I will not be doing a complete division by division preview this year. I know that both of you are very upset.

Here's what I think for the NFC by Division.

South - Falcan'ts 10/6
I don't see any reason that Atlanta won't be the best team here. You know the Bucs are too young, the Panthers are awful and the Saints are too 2008. Matt Ryan is continuing to improve and the addition of another WR threat will provide this offense a scoring threat they lacked last year. Mike Smith will eventually have a decent defense, right? The Saints are going to be good as well but they don't have a defensive identity at all so they will lose some games because of that side of the ball. I see the Dirty Birds cruising to another home playoff game.

West - 49ers 8/8
Last year it was a travishamockery (travesty + sham + mockery) that this division even was awarded a playoff team. This season won't be any different. What a bunch of losers. The first team in this division to 8 wins will be looking at playoffs and 8 wins may be a little too high. I guess the 49ers because they have the best two skill players and a decent defense in the division. I think Arizona will be neck and neck but I don't like Kolb that much just yet. Bunch of junk out west.

North - Packers 10/6
This team has a tough schedule and plays in probably the second hardest division in all of the world. If the Cheese stays healthy this year they could be really dangerous but they couldn't last year and I don't think they will this year with that hard of a schedule. This division is going to be greatly improved from last year with the Lions going to be hard to defend and the Vikings improving by subtraction will be at least competitive this year. The Bears will be a hard defense and they offense should be a lot better as long as Cutler can stay vertical. So, the Packers are not going to run away with anything but are still going to be the best of the North.

East - Eagles 11/5 -
Who in the room thinks that anyone can stand up to the Eagles this year? Anyone, anybody at all? I don't either. The NFC East is still the best division in football. That's right I said it. The Cowboys are still good, the Giants are still good and the Skins are going to get better. But, that said they will still fall short of Philly. I do kind of wonder who Vick is going to throw the ball to for the first part of the season but if no one is open in the first .225 seconds he can take off and run like a scalded dog. (too soon?) So, Philly will have the best offense and the best defense in the NFC and will be the best team in the NFC.

Wildcards - Cowboys 9/7  Saints 9/7

Ok folks, that's the best preview you will read on this whole entire internets. Let me know if you got any better ideas.

As always, I love you guys.
