Over the years one axiom has proven true in the K&S Football Challenge. "10 to win". Virtually each season for the last 11 years the first person to get to 170 points for the year (a 10 point weekly average) has gone on to no worse than a tie for the championship.
Looks like we are lagging behind that pace this year. Of course that seems right considering the bunch of under achievers we have involved in this group. I mean really, none of you have turned out to be all that your family thought you could be growing up. It's alright, I'm right there with you.
We can all take one comfort in knowing that our lack of civility might help us survive longer than those accomplished courteous people. Accomplishment killed this guy.
Jack T. Camp Player of the Week - Scrappy Dappy Doo - Uncle Matty Other than having to share a bathroom with this guy, he might have been the easiest person to get along with that I have ever lived with. I would say that my constant running mouth has influenced Uncle Matty in ways that no one can fully understand. Clearly, Scrappy has used up all his resources and doubled down on this week's picks. Speaking of, that Double Down sandwich from KFC is unbelievable. Who needs bread for a sandwich?
Danny Devito Pic of the Week - Scrappy, Terriers, Cowboys - Come On Really, no one out of our group of disappointing underachievers would even pick the Browns? So this week the best pick was the Indians over the Eagles. Last week I used this space to encourage a member to update their name in the league and it worked perfectly. So, this week I am asking someone to pick a true upset next week, I am talking about something really crazy, like picking the 49ers.
Justin Bieber Loser of the Week - Pipkin - Stevie Seahawk For the record, I don't have a clue who Justin Bieber is. But I thought Bieber's picture reminded me of Pipkin in the longer haired college days. Loser of the Week is always a tough one to hand out but really it is deserved. I never expected nearly 25% of the season to be over and for Pipkin to be behind Stapleton, Coldiron and Juggs. I mean really, I thought Stevie Seahawk was an upper tier player. Of course, I thought the Colts were going to win their division too.
Beth Ditto Fantasy of the Week - Gotcha! Not Even Close What a blow out! In the K&S Fantasy League we did not even find a competitive game over any of the match ups. I think Rosie O'Donnell has faced more resistance from a box of doughnuts than half of the League put up this week. The average game was decided by about 50 points this week. And it would have been even worse except for the Patriots special teams. This is what I was expecting by making this league with a small bench, bye week selections are going to be vital. Any one wanting to trade for Vick or Cutler now?
Kathrine Heigl Tips for Winning...at Life - You Can't Buy Time I have always lived by the motto that if it can give me time it's worth the money. So I invest in items that save me time in my everyday life. For instance I bought a Roomba Robot Vacuum Cleaner. I bought a steam mop. I bought a cleaning drill on a pole for tubs and showers. I bought my wife an MP3 player thinking that it would save me time from having to entertain her. All these things I bought in order to save my families time so that we could spend it on the important things of life. Little did I know that women don't read directions and are not wired the try to figure things out by themselves like men are. So with all these investments in time I have only lost money because I refuse to read instructions to someone else who can read for themselves. In my efforts to spend money to save time I have found that I have only created more headache over the constant back and forth about operating technology and have only wasted my money. From now on it is simple tools like a wicker broom and a spray bottle of bleach and an old toothbrush. Save your money, you can't buy time.
Moss v. Jennings - GJ 22 yard lead, Touchdowns equal.
