Preview NCF WEST

The BEST Division Preview on the web that No One will read.

Let me remind you of my on-going premise....No meaningful NFL football is played west of Texas.

With that in mind here is how I see the NFC West Shaping up.

San Fran 49ers 9 - 10 Wins
What other team do you remember with two quarterbacks who are former #1 overall? Alex Smith and David Carr are each on this roster and no one thinks that either one is any good and everyone knows it.
Schedule: The Bad - 2 independent match-up games for this team are Green Bay and Philly, sorry guys two losses there. The Good - they also get to play the AFC West, few East Coast trips and of course no great teams play west of Texas.
The good news is that this division is still the worst in Football. A UFL team could possibly finish better than last in this division. If one of these former #1 overall picks can complete around 65% of their attempts then this team will host a playoff game.
Fantasy Grades - Frank Gore = A++ Vernon Davis = A+ Crabtree = C Def = C

Arizona Cardinals 8 - 9 Wins
The face stubble simply doesn't grow on Lienart like it does on Warner. Kurt Warner was the glue that held this group together. Lienart is only about a 55% chance to keep his starting job over Derek Anderson for the entire season.
Schedule: The Bad - even worse than the 49ers independent match-ups, Dallas and Minnesota. If Farve doesn't play though, Minnesota won't be as worrisome. The Good - by the time they have to play the Cowboys, the 'Boys might not have anything left to play for. This team still has the game's best WR and a offensive guru as head coach so they might be able to stay in games long enough to compete with teams with greater talent.
Fantasy Grades- Larry Fitz - A+++ Beanie Wells - C Def - B-

Seattle Seahawks 5 - 6 Wins
Pete Carrol left USC as he saw the ship taking on water and so did Mike Holmgren from this team two years ago. What does this team have that impresses you.....? Yeah me either.
Schedule: The Bad - Independent match-ups against the Bears and Giants make it seem as if this team will only have a chance to win 2 possible games outside their own division. The Good - not much to look forward to here except for a game against the Raiders and with the Bucs
As long as this team continues to give Julius Jones any more than 2 carries a game it means that Forsett and Leon Washington, their two best playmakers are going to not live up to their talent level. There are too many running backs options for this team as long as you still only play with one ball.
Fantasy Grades- Hasselback - D ('D' for Done) Houchmanz - C- Def - C

St. Louis Rams 1 - 3 Wins
How much are you paying that rookie? Do you realize that Sam Bradford is looking to be the highest paid player in the ENTIRE NFL? Having never even put on shoulder pads this guy is breaking the bank, and the hearts of mid-western football fans later this year. How sad that Stephen Jackson is stuck in this quagmire of football nothingness.
Schedule: The Bad - this team looks to be the worst of and of the other division they are playing worst team. The Good - Since this team always is a last place team they get Independent match-ups with the Redskins and the Lions and it is always possible to beat the Lions if you just make it to the stadium.
Teams know that Stephen Jackson is a great player but they also know that if you stop him in the redzone then this team has no other options and cannot beat you. So look for Jackson to run up and down the field until he gets close to pay dirt, then get shut out.
Fantasy Grades: Steve Jackson - A- Bradford - D- Def - F (Forget about it)

So that's the worst division in Football. Luckily, it gets better from here.

Let me know what you think,

The Chairman
