Week 14 Rewind

Are you in the Christmas spirit?  Christmas is 10 days and approaching fast.  I'm 85% done with my Christmas shopping and even have most of those presents wrapped.  I'm ahead of the game, I guess you can say, but I'm not ahead of the K&S Football challenge.  Man oh man, another tough week for me.  We do have some contenders though and a close race down the stretch.

Let's take a look at the...

Player of the Week - Superbowl bound Seahawk (SBS) is back to his early season form.  With 14 wins this past weekend, SBS is in control of his destiny to take home the gold for the season with a two point lead heading into week 15.  Missing only the two games this past weekend... the first of week 14 - Cleveland and Pitts - and the last game of the week - Arizona and San Fran.  Congrats Mr. SeaHawk.  I hope you choke the next 3 weeks -- nothing but love.

Pick of the Week - The one and only, Mississippi Slug Salter for choosing San Fran to beat Arizona on Monday night.  I believe this was part desperation as
he lost his first five games (ATL, Chicago, Denver, Cincy and KC).  But hey, I believe San Fran has swept Arizona for the past three seasons, so maybe it was just a smart pick.  Either way, congrats Mr. MS Slug Salter.

Loser of the Week - Me and the Chairman for only getting 11 games correct, and being 10 spots out of first place.  We are pathetic.

Tips for Winning at Life - I'm convinced that people are just about clueless in their professions.  I'm trying to buy a house.  I'm supposed to be closing in another week or so.  I'm told by the lender that I need a termite inspection and need to fax over the report from the bug company.  I order a termite inspection, get a write up of the findings, but am told by the inspector that he cannot provide a WDIR (wood destroying insect report) as required by the mortgage broker and lender.  I say okay.  I send the write up to the broker/lender and she says what she needs is suppose to be two pages long.  What I sent was only one page, but she does not give me the name of the report needed.  I ask her if it is a WDIR.  Her response, "what is a WDIR?" This process is crazy, nobody knows anything and you're left to figure it out on your own.

And come to think of it, I now know why mortgage and real estate professionals are called Brokers... they take all your money leaving you, the sucker, with no money and broke as you ever were.  Go figure.

Looking forward to Week 15!
