Week 6 Rewind

If it happens once it's an occurrence, if it happens again its a trend.  That's the theme for this week's rewind.  Again this week, we had a participant miss some picks.  Stapleton was just a couple minutes late and Yahoo shut him out.  Consequently, he missed the one o'clock games.  Who's next in this Final Destination tragedy?

So, it was challenging week for some of us.  I had my lowest scoring week yet with 8 points, the Chairman tied his season low, and the leader of the pack, SuperBowl Bound Seahawks (SBS), scored 7 points, the first time this guy has seen single digits this season.  With SBS's poor performance, some of our gamers were able to play catch up.  Let's see who won this week's honors.

Pick of the Week - It's a tie folks!  Craptastic went with his gut, and picked the Texans to upset the trendy Cincy Bengals while Uncle Matty "Scrappy" Coldiron gave KC its first win of the season over the discombobulated Redskins.  The Texans are starting to become one of those "they could win, but are they going to show up this week" teams, while the Redskins are trending worse and worse.  These two picks, helped both these guys earn the week high 10 points become...

Players of the Week - It's a tie folks!  I've talked about Craptastic and I've talked about Scrappy, two of this week's players of the week, but what about this character who calls himself the Juggernaut.  A rookie to the K&S Football Tourney family, recruited by the younger Coldiron brother, Longhorns.  Juggernaut had a rough couple weeks in the first quarter of the season, but with the help of a couple players not making picks and a couple strong weeks he's been trending upward.  He also earned 10 points, and only missed the four games that the rest of the gang missed (with the exception of the two picks of the week).  Nicely done!

Loser of the Week - If you miss picks, it is an automatic loser of the week award.  Luckily, Stapleton is no stranger to working his way up.  Hi-Ho Hi-Ho, it's off to work we go...

Tips for Winning...At Life - It becomes a trend...
So, I had this great idea to surprise the love of my life.  I cooked dinner, prepared the table with the candles, had a small bouquet of flowers, and surprised her as she walked in the door from a long day at work.  It was a perfect.  I was among the elite of all husbands that night and felt like a young squire earning his degree of knighthood.  She could not believe how much thought and time went into this wonderful event.  It was talked about for days, and I definitely earned my brownie points.  She had talked it up so much and said so many great things, that I ended up doing it again a couple weeks later.  Still surprised the second time, the positive reinforcement kept coming.  Then a month later, I did it yet again: flowers, a small gift, and a candlelight dinner.  After another time or two, I finally began to recognize I was being trained and this specially crafted dinner was becoming a trend

Now, that I've done this nearly half a dozen times, it is now almost expected.  Once is a special occasion, twice is trend. Tread easy my friends.

Once you start out that strong there's no place to go by down. In life or in the K&S Tourney, you want to always have something in reserve. You want to be the kind of man who builds to the grand finale, not a bottle rocket that fizzes out in after one big flash. Pace yourselves people. Pace yourselves.
