Week 6 Rewind

The theme for Week 6 was make or break. Let’s see who did what:

The Chairman 9
Chief Red Beard is playing!!! 8
PresK 9
Superbowl bound Seahawks 6
Scrappy 7
longhorns 8
I'd rather be fishin' 10
bigdawgsfan 6
Perry 7
Stapleton 7

I’d rather be Fishn’ took the week by the horns and scored his season high with 10 wins for the week. The Chairman and I had second and third place wrapped up with 9 wins. Superbowl bound Seahawks had his season low, 6 in Week 6. How fitting?! Continuing on the weekly stats, the pick of the week goes to Longhorns for being the only participant going with Tampa Bay over the Carolina Panthers. I guess the rest of us were all brainwashed with Brady’s Panthers are for real talk. But I have to give credit were credit is do, the Chairman did say that the Bucs were the only team standing in the way of Panthers winning the division. The worst pick of the week goes to all of us for being to pretty-pink-girly-girl to pick Cleveland over the NY Giants or Arizona over Dallas. What a bunch of wussies we are!

Here is a quick look at the overall standings if you haven’t logged into Yahoo Pick’em this week:

The Chairman 59
Chief Red Beard is playing!!! 53
PresK 52
Superbowl bound Seahawks 52
Scrappy 52
longhorns 52
I'd rather be fishin' 51
bigdawgsfan 51
Perry 50
Stapleton 46

Taking a look at the NFL, we had 4 teams with a winless season before Week 6. Two of those teams squeaked by – St Louis took down Washington and Houston side-swiped Miami. It looks like Cincy is the leagues worst team with 6 losses and the Detroit Lions are not far behind with 5 losses thanks to a bye week. The NFL provided us with many great match-ups this week and five last minute wins. This is why this game is so exciting! Both Indy and San Diego seemed to show up this weekend playing high caliber ball. Now the question is, will they continue to put up or shut up? Atlanta has beat two NFC North teams in back to back weeks, giving the team a shimmer of light. Sports talk radio analysts are now trying to determine how many games the Falcons can win and if they can make the playoffs. What are your thoughts? Post a comment and let me know how many wins the Falcons will walk away with this year and whether or not that number will get them into the playoffs.

Continue to pay attention to injury reports. It looks like Hasselback in Seattle will be out again this week while Gruden is giving Garcia the nod in Tampa Bay. Romo will be out 4 weeks in Dallas with a broken finger and, are you ready for this, Brad Johnson will get the start. That is yet another granddaddy starting this season. Got to love the ol’ school quarterbacks in the league.

Also, the trade deadline is Tuesday evening. Will Tony G. get his wish and be sent packing? What about Detroit shopping Roy Williams?

As always, it was fun bringing you the Rewind. Stay tuned for the Week 7 Preview coming up Friday.

The Falcons will at least win 7 games. If they win more then it will be gravy for me.
